That topic has been discussed at length in the SEO community but recent events got me back to it. I have to tell this story and get it off my chest as I found myself both on the validation advocate side and the seo side.

So a few days ago I stumbled upon a huge traffic drop over the week-end, like half of the traffic was gone, gone. That evening, I checked all the possibilities on why the heck half of a site traffic would suddenly disappear; maybe some referrers? search position drop? email delivery? etc. to no clear signal. Passed the Google Analytics IQ Certification

Edit: July 2012 – new GAIQ Test released by Google

I have passed my Google Analytics Individual Qualification (IQ) test on 31 December 2009.  It has been on my to-do list since it was announced earlier this year. Happy that I’ve been able to check that out of my to-do for the new coming year, with a respectable score of 91%.

The Google Analytics Individual Qualification is a proof of proficiency in Google Analytics that is available to any individual who has passed the Google Analytics IQ test.

Get your Analytics fix on your iPhone

Google Analytics on iPhone The iTunes Store officially reach more than 20 000 applications available this week, it took 6 month to do the first 10k and another 3 month to break the 20k so how long until 100k applications ?

It’s already crazy the choice you have, sure a lot of those applications are worthless, the need for 69 farting applications is hard to explain. But the amount of applications, a lot of them free, give the opportunity for everyone to have the mobile device they want. Of course non authorized applications can extend far beyond the default settings what you can do with your phone. Cydia Applications for example give you access to a lot of tweaking but get ready for a wild ride.

The number of applications available, the ease of use of them (and of course of the OS) is a revolution in the mobile world, creating a sustainable strong platform. Continue reading →
